I recently visited Sport Check to get my pricey figure skates sharpened for my professional skating needs. The staff member was quite rude and took more than an hour to finish the job. When I collected them, I found scratches everywhere and some kind of oil on the boot. I took them to a specialized figure skating shop, and they informed me that the blade was totally damaged, and skate shops wouldn’t take them because the tail was completely rounded off. I had just bought those skates about a week ago! That rounded tail threw off the balance of the skate. If you own figure skates, steer clear of trusting them with your gear. Have a good day.

I ordered online for pickup. The item got sent back in under 5 business days without any heads-up or my okay, and the store folks told me I’d receive a full refund once everything's sorted out. I just don’t get how you can send something back without letting me know or getting my permission. Now I’m left empty-handed, my cash is gone, and your staff just says, 'Sorry, there’s nothing we can do for you.' I’m never coming back here again.

Placed an online order for pickup. The item was returned in less and 5 business days without any notification r consent, and the store staff said i will get a full refund when the process is finished. I dont understand how you can return an item without any notification or consent, and now im here without my money, item is completely gone and your staff with their "sorry, theres nothing we can do for you" Never shopping here again

Just got myself some new ski boots and skis, and I gotta say, the customer service from Peyton at the Halifax Shopping Centre was fantastic!

I picked up a helmet and some boots from this place. The box for the helmet was a bit banged up, but the item itself was all good. The boots were just as described, and I’m super excited to give them a go!!!

If you're thinking about grabbing kicks from sportchek.ca (part of Canadian Tire) in Canada, just a heads up—they're dealing in open box items, factory seconds, and some sneaky tricks.

1. My first purchase of shoes ended up with one being a size 10.5 and the other a size 11, three months later. (Should've called it quits right then.)
2. On my second order, I received a shoe that was laced up, marked, and clearly a floor demo. Plus, one lace was missing. I reached out to customer support, and they promised to send me a lace.
3. A couple of days later, a case manager informed me that they couldn't send laces, so my only choice was to repackage, print a label, and head to the post office to return it. Or I could relace them myself since they do offer custom laces.
4. The shoes didn’t match the picture at all; they were missing the ankle cushion piece. Factory second, perhaps?

Just wanted to share this. I'm really tired of companies pulling the wish.com routine. I refuse to waste two hours of my life returning something they messed up.

I’m done shopping at crappy tire or sport chek for good.

If you're buying sneakers from sportchek.ca (Canadian Tire Company) in Canada be aware they are selling open box, factory seconds and the old switcharooni.

1. First time bought shoes. 3 months later relized one was a 10.5 and one was a 11. (Should of stopped here.)

Honestly, it doesn’t surprise me that folks are flocking to Amazon these days. I gave another store a shot, and boy, do I regret that decision. Like others have pointed out, you can’t cancel orders that haven’t shipped yet. Their customer service? Just awful. To save a buck, they use terrible cheap couriers, like Purolator, and on top of that, they send the wrong items. It’s clear to me this company is poorly run and not focused on customers. There’s a lot Amazon could teach them. I wouldn’t be shocked if this business shuts down down the line.

Once you make a purchase, their support is just terrible. You can't change or cancel your order, even if it hasn't shipped yet.

It is no shock to me everyone else is choosing Amazon to shop nowadays. I tried supporting a different store and I deeply regret. As people have already mentioned, you can't cancel orders they have not shipped yet. Their customer service is horrendous. To reduce costs they ship products using horrible cheap couriers, like purolator, and to top it all up they send wrong products. I can tell it is a poorly managed company, not customer oriented. Lots to learn from amazon. I will not be surprised if this company goes out of business in the future.
